SolarRed and SolarGreen are two excellent fluorescent nucleic acid gel staining reagents with high sensitivity, low toxicity and super stability. The waste of its water-soluble dye can be directly poured into the sewer without causing any environmental pollution. At present, most commercial nucleic acid dyes (gel staining reagents) are always not completely satisfactory in terms of safety, stability and sensitivity. For example, although EB (ethidium bromide), as the most widely used nucleic acid gel staining reagent, can provide acceptable sensitivity in most applications, it is a highly mutagenic chemical. Moreover, EB staining has a high background fluorescence signal.
