Significance: G6PDH (EC 1.1.1.49) widely exists in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It is the key enzyme of pentose phosphate pathway, which catalyzes the oxidation of glucose 6- phosphate to gluconolactone 6-phosphate, and at the same time reduces NADP+ to NADPH for biosynthesis and maintenance of intracellular reduction. Therefore, the activity of glucose 6- phosphate dehydrogenase can reflect the biosynthesis and antioxidant capacity of living things to some extent.
Determination principle: G6PDH catalyzes the reduction of NADP+ to generate NADPH, and the increase rate of NADPH is determined at 340 nm.
Necessary instruments and consumables: UV spectrophotometer/microplate reader, water bath pot, desktop centrifuge, adjustable pipette, micro Shi Ying cuvette /96-well plate, mortar, ice and distilled water.
