NP-M2tide

This 15-mer peptide is derived from NP-M2tide, a peptide that is able to bind to human M2 isoform of pyruvate kinase (PKM2). PKM2 is a phosphotyrosine-binding protein, that once bound to phosphotyrosine peptides, will release fructose-1,6-biphosphate that will block the enzymatic activity of PKM2. This event veers glucose metabolites from energy production to anabolic processes. PKM2 is also crucial for rapid cancer cell growth.
